“Busy” doesn’t even begin to describe.
School has started and I now do nothing but go to class, work on homework and sleep. My social has a lot to be desired but no time with which to do so. I am also working 20 hours a week to go along with my 16 semester hour schedule. So far I have been able to keep up with my class load…but 2 weeks is not the best tell tale sign of what’s to come. I am currently taking Age of Dinosaurs, Photography, Nazi and Stalinist Propaganda Art History, Graphic Design and Interpretation on Literature. My reading load is outrageous but luckily I don’t have a lot of time consuming projects to work on every week. But enough about school!
I am starting a room make-over in my apartment! The inspiration came from a pillow I bought at The White Rabbit (Thanks to my Aunt Chris!) and I am now (not so) patiently awaiting my sheet, pillowcases and bed spread to come in the mail. The room is nautical themed. I painted five 6x6 canvases with nautical symbols and I just bought five more. I am putting them up on my walls in a line. Basically, I am fucking pumped for this! I am in a one-sided competition with Macaira to have an awesome room. She is currently winning, hands down. But I am hoping to be a contender once my stuff comes in. I also bought a new DSLR! It should be here before I head off to Minneapolis to visit my pillow-buying Aunt!
I have been doing a whole lot of nothing this weekend. I put off my homework and other general housekeeping tasks. I am now stuck with doing all of that tomorrow when I know that there are going to be a ton of awesome TV marathons on tomorrow. Lame.
Well I should probably get back to folding laundry and homework. I found a $5 bill in my pants pocket I forgot about, so that was nice! Okay, I should seriously get back to doing productive things.

New apartment, new surroundings and new outlooks.
I moved and I truly believed it changed my life.
At the start of the Summer, I lived in an apartment with a ginger who has no social skills and an Asian who, while nice, doesn’t talk much. I lived on the other side of the river from the main campus and I had no social life.
Then Jessica moved in and the Asian girl left and was replaced by an older Chinese couple visiting their daughter. Then I had someone to talk to and the couple was very nice.
On Sunday (July 31st) my Mom, sister and I moved my things into a U-haul and stayed in a hotel overnight and moved in the morning. The move was awful but awesome at the same time. I spent a lot of time wheezing on the ground while Jess went up and down 3 flights of stairs and took things to my apartment. I love her and her endurance.
I now live in an apartment that is 4 blocks away from downtown Iowa City. I can walk to the bus stop and go to work and on my way back I can stop at the store or the post office or whatever I want!! I am have never been this excited to be within walking distance of anything in my life. I am now living with my friend, Alyson, and my sister. While the apartment is smaller, it is extremely clean. It also has a great living room and a TON of kitchen cabinets and other awesome shit. My room is currently very small but that will be changing soon.
Life is pretty sweet right now. Classes start on the 22nd and I am excited to get back into the swing of things.
